Down to 52.0 seconds, lower times expected

Michel Jourdain Jr., Herdez/Bettenhausen Motorsports driver continued this Tuesday his testing sessions in Sebring, Florida, in preparation for the 2000 FedEx Championship Series.

Michel Jourdain Jr., Car #16, Herdez/Bettenhausen Motorsports: "We are making progress and I feel very pleased with all the work we have done today (Tuesday). We worked on many things such as springs, shock absorbers, all the chassis... We had a little problem with the gearbox, but the team already fixed it and we will have a final run this afternoon, before the sunset. I think tomorrow we will lower our times. Today, our best lap-time was 52.0 seconds."

Tom Brown, Managing Director/Chief Engineer, Herdez/Bettenhausen Motorsports: "Today was a good day. Michel (Jourdain Jr.) completed between 140 to 150 miles and we are making a lot of progress, but we need more miles testing. We may continue on Thursday, because we did not run too many laps on Monday. Today we had a problem with the differential and also with the drive flange, we already replace it and we will go back to the track in the afternoon."

The team will continue with the scheduled Wednesday testing session and maybe will have an extra session on Thursday, before they go to Phoenix, Arizona to test next week at Firebird.
