"I think we've been able to put together a very strong group for both Dario and Paul"

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (January 10, 2001) - Team KOOL Green today announced its new race team line-up for the 2001 CART FedEx Championship with drivers Dario Franchitti and Paul Tracy.

Veteran Kyle Moyer will serve as team manager for the Honda-Reynards driven by Franchitti and Tracy. Moyer is an original member of Team Green and worked as crew chief on Jacques Villeneuve's Indy 500 and CART Championship winning car in 1995. He became team manager of Team KOOL Green's Indy Lights program in 1996 and since 1998 has been team manager of the Champ Car driven by Franchitti.

Eric Haverson and George Klotz will work as chief mechanics on the Honda-Reynards of Tracy and Franchitti, respectively. Like Moyer, Haverson is a long-time member of Team Green and has been lead mechanic on Tracy's car since the Canadian joined the team in 1998, while Klotz comes to Team KOOL Green from Player's/Forsythe Racing where he worked as chief mechanic for Alex Tagliani last year.

Team KOOL Green's race engineering line-up will have a decidedly nationalistic flavor. Steve Challis moves from Franchitti's number 27 KOOL Honda-Reynard to work with fellow Canadian Tracy, while new team member Iain Watt is paired with fellow Scotsman Franchitti. Like Challis, Watt is a veteran of Champ Car competition, having worked with PPI Motorsports and Cristiano da Matta the past two seasons.

"I think we've been able to put together a very strong group for both Dario and Paul," said Moyer. "There's a good combination of Champ Car experience and experience with our procedures here at Team KOOL Green on each car, plus some fresh ideas from other teams. We've enjoyed our share of success over the years at Team KOOL Green, but you always have to try to improve yourselves in this business. I'm confident the results will show that we've done exactly that in 2001."

"Adding George Klotz and Iain Watt has made a strong team even stronger," said team owner Barry Green. "Together with Kyle Moyer, Steve Challis and Eric Haverson they give us experience and strong leadership on the technical side as well as in the mechanical preparation of our cars. I'm looking forward to seeing Dario and Paul score some more one-two finishes for Team KOOL Green this year."
