With German driver Andre Lotterer

INDIANAPOLIS - Keeping alive a streak that has seen him run at least two drivers in the CART FedEx Championship Series every year since 1992, Dale Coyne announced Thursday that he will be fielding a car in next weekend's Gran Premio Telmex/Gigante Presented by Banamex/Visa.

The long-time CART owner and driver, who made his first run of the year back in Rockingham with Darren Manning, will roll out the #19 Ford-Cosworth/Lola/Bridgestone for German driver Andre Lotterer for next weekend's CART season finale at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez in Mexico City.

The 20-year-old Lotterer has experience that belies his relative youth as the former national karting champion has served as a test driver for the Jaguar Formula 1 team, and before that had won three races in the German F3 series.

He will make his first Champ Car start next weekend just two days before his 21st birthday, and will making his first start of any kind this year. He ran in the British F3 series last season after moving up from the German series but did not have a steady ride this season. It will not be his first time behind the wheel this year however, as the Coyne squad tested the youngster at Sebring earlier in the year.

The team is no stranger to adapting to a new driver and showed its skills at Rockingham when it finished ninth on the English oval in Manning's CART debut.

"It's like riding a bike and we've been doing this a long time," said Coyne. "It's just a matter of getting the right pieces in place and everyone did a good job in England. We had the right setups and strategy and Darren adapted nicely."
