BROOKLYN (May 13, 1996) - Andrew Craig, CEO of Championship Auto Racing Teams, recently hinted that several additional races could be on the agenda for the 1997 season.

He said that there could be upwards of 20 races on the schedule in 1997.

The teams had a meeting over the weekend where the 1997 schedule and boost issues were discussed.

40 inches of boost could very well become the rule for 1997 as aerodynamic changes have failed to slow the cars this year.

IndyCar is hoping to make an announcement shortly after the U.S. 500 and after the details have been worked out.

In addition it is expected that IndyCar will announce that the 1997 U.S. 500 will be run at the California Speedway in Southern California.
