Krosnoff and Avrin Services Scheduled

Memorial service arrangements were announced Wednesday for IndyCar rookie driver Jeff Krosnoff and volunteer course marshal Gary Avrin, both of whom died in an accident at Sunday’s Molson Indy Toronto.

Krosnoff's service will be held Monday, July 22, at Descanso Gardens, 1418 Descanso Drive, La Canada-Flintridge, Calif. The outdoor memorial service, open to family, friends and members of the racing community, will be held from 5-9 p.m. Pacific Time. Please call (818) 952-4400 during normal business hours for directions.

In lieu of flowers, the family is in the process of setting up a Jeff Krosnoff memorial fund and additional information will be forthcoming. All other condolences for the Krosnoff family and Arciero-Wells Racing may be sent to: 30212 Tomas, Rancho Santa Margarita, CA 92688.

In tribute to Avrin's love of racing, there will be a celebration of his life Saturday, July 20, at Race City Speedway Motorsport Park, 700, 333 11th Avenue SW, Calgary, Alberta. Following cremation in Toronto on Friday, his ashes will be dispersed over the race track during the service that begins at 6 p.m. Mountain Time.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honor to the charity of individual choice. Contribution notes and all other condolences for the Avrin family may be sent to his parents: Marc and Ruth Avrin, 201 Esquimalt Avenue, West Vancouver, B.C., Canada, V7V 1R4.

On behalf of both families and the Arciero-Wells group, IndyCar would like to thank all who have taken time to express their sympathy and condolences over the last few days.
