MTV To Showcase Vasser
and Target/Chip Ganassi Racing

MTV Sports will present a behind-the-scenes look at the PPG Indy Car World Series, as seen through the eyes of Jimmy Vasser and Target/Chip Ganassi Racing, Friday, (Aug. 2) at 11:30 p.m. (EDT).

The 30-minute, documentary-style special follows PPG Cup leader Vasser and team through three early-1996 events: the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach, Bosch Spark Plug Grand Prix, and the U.S. 500. Vasser drove his Target Reynard-Honda to victory in both Long Beach and the U.S. 500 at Michigan International Speedway.

"It was a lot of fun to work with the MTV crew," said Vasser. "I'm sure the show will be enjoyable as it presents Indy Car racing in a different way, in the style made famous by MTV."

MTV is scheduled to re-air the show three times next weekend: Saturday, Aug. 3, 9 a.m.; Sunday, Aug 4, 8:30 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. (All times Eastern).
