SPEEDCENTER, U.S.A. (Sept. 25, 1996 - 7:25pm PDT) - SpeedCenter has just learned that Raul Boesel will be teaming-up with Patrick Racing and lead-driver, Scott Pruett, for the 1997 IndyCar season.

Raul will be bringing along the Brahma sponsorship which will be the primary sponsor for both cars. Pruett will keep Pennzoil and Pepsi as associate sponsors on his car.

The official press release will be made sometime tomorrow.

This announcement is especially interesting as Boesel filled in for Pruett in 1990, when Scott was recovering from his pre-season testing crash in Florida, and driving for Truesports.

Natural teammates?

Both drivers have been tossed around from here-to-there over the years and could very well be the team to beat in 1997.

Both Scott and Raul will be driving Lola/Ford/Firestone machines in 1997.
