The Player's-Forsythe Racing team has announced that they will be running the Lola chassis in 1997. They will also remain with Firestone rubber and the Mercedes-Ilmor powerplant.

The team had previously used the Reynard chassis.

There have also been some revamped rumors that Patrick Carpentier will join the team for the 1997 season in spite of the fact that he will be testing for MCI Racing and Bettenhausen Racing later this month.

In another story, Tony Bettenhausen will be testing four potential drivers at Sebring next week to fill the position left vacant by Stefan Johansson.

The drivers being tested are: Jörg Müller, 1996 Formula 3000 Champion; Alan McNish and Tom Kristensen, also of Formula 3000 and Patrick Carpentier, 1996 Toyota Atlantic Champion.
