PHOENIX, Arizona (October 24, 1996) - SpeedCenter's Arizona connection reports that Gil de Ferran, now with Walker Racing, is participating in a three-day test session for Goodyear at Firebird Raceway.

Gil was driving an all-white, formerly Hall Racing, 1996 Reynard/Honda. Even one of the transporters was yellow and was either borrowed or purchased from Hall Racing. The two other transporters were displaying Walker Racing/Valvoline livery.

The Honda engine was being run without a pop-off valve and was apparently slightly de-tuned as the engine did not sound quite as loud and "frisky" as normal.

The test sessions today were being run exclusively on sticker-tires in 5-lap increments and the weather was clear and in the mid-70's.
