Well....Almost

SpeedCenter has just learned that Parker Johnstone, who announced that he is leaving Brix-Comptech Racing, is in the final stages of sealing a deal with Barry Green for the 1997 season.

Team Green has long been searching for an American driver after Robby Gordon decided to go to NASCAR.

Green is quoted to have said to Indy Car Racing Magazine: "Parker is an American, which will please KOOL. He's got a good deal of experience in Indy Cars and he's shown he can run at the front," said Green. "I'm very interested in Parker, but there's a lot of work yet to be done before we can announce a deal."

There is no word on whether Parker will take the Honda engine-package with him, but Brix-Comptech is still saying that they will be running a Honda in 1997.

More details as they become available....
