PacWest Rookie Blundell Receives Earl Howe Award

PacWest Racing Group rookie driver Mark Blundell was presented with the Earl Howe Trophy by the British Racing Drivers’ Club.

The British Racing Drivers’ Club awarded the Earl Howe Trophy to Blundell for being the British driver who established the most meritorious performance of the year in a race in North America. Blundell had 13 starts with a pair of top-five finishes this past PPG Cup season in the Visa/PacWest Reynard Ford.

The award was presented to him recently at the BRDC Annual Dinner and Awards Presentation held at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London.

Murray Walker OBE, famed F1 Grand Prix commentator, introduced the presentation to Blundell, and Lady Hesketh awarded the trophy at the event. The evening was also attended by many luminaries from the world of motor racing including Damon Hill, Mika Hakkinen, Stirling Moss, Jack Brabham and Jody Scheckter.

Commenting on his trophy award, Blundell said, "It is a great honor to receive the Earl Howe trophy from the BRDC. I have so much respect for this organization and all the hard work that they put in to making sure that British motor racing and drivers go from strength to strength."
