The New Year is only four days old, but CART’s first on-track activity of 1997 is less than four weeks away. The PPG CART World Series Annual Spring Training will be conducted at the Metro-Dade Homestead Motorsports Complex January 30 through February 1. The event is a final test prior to the 1997 season which starts on the same Homestead track with the Marlboro Grand Prix of Miami, presented by Toyota, Sunday, March 2.

Spring Training features the stars and cars of the PPG Cup in their first public appearance in 1997 equipment. All of the top teams and drivers are scheduled to appear including 1996 PPG Cup champion and Marlboro Grand Prix of Miami winner Jimmy Vasser, 1996 Miami runnerup Gil de Ferran, fourth-place finisher Scott Pruett, Bobby Rahal, Al Unser Jr., Michael Andretti, Paul Tracy and more.

In addition to hours of on-track activity, Spring Training also offers you the best opportunity to visit with your favorite drivers and teams in a relaxed environment. Numerous autograph sessions are scheduled in addition to a Celebrity Charity Softball game at the nearby Homestead stadium.
