CART Online (January 14) — After a one-year hiatus, Hiro Matsushita hasreunited with Arciero-Wells Racing for the 1997 PPG CART World Seriesseason.

Matsushita will drive a Reynard Toyota on Firestone Tires along the similarMCI entry from AWR driven by Max Papis. Matsushita and Arciero-Wells haveagreed to a multi-year extension while the driver has also announced he willcontinue his successful relationship with Panasonic of North America andJapan-based Duskin.

Matsushita and Arciero-Wells also teamed together in 1995, the first-year ofthe partnership between Cal Wells III and the Southern California-basedArciero family.

This past season, Matsushita drove for Payton-Coyne Racing.
