FRANKFURT, Germany - Recently other sources have reported that Project Indy has a driver by thename of "Arent Meijer" to team up with Dennis Vitolo in 1997. The driver indiscussion as a second pilot for Christian Danner's Project-Indy Team is"Arnd Meier." Meier is the 1996 vice champion in the European Formula 3Series, a typical feeder series for Formula 1 or CART.

Already in December, Arnd Meier had completed two successful test sessions with Project-Indy,after which he pointed out that the more difficult task remained: findingsponsorship for his participation in the CART series. Meier, who is fromnorthern Germany, has ties to Opel, the German GM division - a relationshipthat may be of little use to him in his quest for sponsorship of a CARTride in a Ford-powered car.
