Fisher gone, no successor named yet

Detroit April 16, 1997: CART announced Wednesday that Mike Fisher hasbeen relieved of his duties as Executive Vice President for the motorracing sanctioning organization.

The announcement was made by Championship Auto Racing Teams Presidentand Chief Executive Officer, Andrew Craig.

"Mike came to us with many fine qualifications," Craig said. "However,following a review between myself and Mike, we have mutually agreed thatthe fit between him and CART is not a good one and it is in the bestinterest of both parties to part"

Craig said there is no time table for finding a successor for Fisher.
