Some of the world's leading race car drivers participate in the series including PPG Cup champions Micheal Andretti, Boby Rahal, Al Unser Jr., and Jimmy Vasser, plus PPG Cup race winners Gil deFerran, Adrian Fernandez, Scott Pruett, Andre Ribeiro, Paul Tracy and Alex Zanardi. In 1997, CART is conducting a 17-race series. |

- Data collection and evaluation of CART's television viewershipis done by sponsorship Research International, and independentagency of the ISL group, the world's largest sports event marketingagency. Sri has a number of clients for which it monitors televisionviewership, including FIFA World Cup Soccer.
- All television rights for the PPG CART World Series are the propertyof Championship Auto Racing Teams. The rights have either beengranted to broadcasters or have been sublicensed by ESPN International,CART's TV partner for international rights, sales and distribution.
