Final layout for the '98 Molson Indy Vancouver temporary track An information session regarding the '98 Vancovuer track layout was held last week. A lot of work remains to be done as for example the fast stretch is not located in both directions down either side of Quebec Street which is a boulevard. Only one half of the boulevard is used and the other one direction of the track layout goes through the Science Center parking lot (which is very bumpy at the moment). They definitely have a lot of work to do before the first race, including demolition of some buildings, cleanup of wastes (toxic) in the area that will be used for the CART and Indy Lights paddock, paving of extensive areas, and probably re-paving of much of the track surface. All of the staff we talked to at the meeting saw the next year to be a real challenge. Last week, Phil Heard left the Molson Indy Vancouver after four years as general manager, increasing the pressures on the organizers of the popular event. 1998 Molson Indy Vancouver Track Layout
