PPG Cup Champ to appear tomorrow night on talk show

PPG CART World Series champion Alex Zanardi is scheduled to appear onCBS-TV's "Late Show with David Letterman" on Friday, November 28, thenight after Thanksgiving.

"I am excited about this because I am a big fan of David and hisshow," said Zanardi, whose Target/Chip Ganassi Racing teammate, JimmyVasser, guested on Letterman's show following his 1996 PPG Cupchampionship.

Zanardi (Target Reynard Honda HRR) earned the second consecutive PPGCup championship for Target/Chip Ganassi Racing on the strength ofPPG CART World Series-leading totals of five victories and four polepositions. A 31-year-old resident of Bologna, Italy, Zanardi joinedreigning Formula One champion Jacques Villeneuve (1994-95) as theonly drivers in CART history to earn Rookie of the Year honorsfollowed by the PPG Cup in their first two years in the series.

Letterman recently concluded his second season as co-owner of TeamRahal, which campaigns co-owner Bobby Rahal (Miller Lite ReynardFord) and Bryan Herta (Shell Reynard Ford) in the PPG CART WorldSeries.

The "Late Show with David Letterman" airs in most Eastern time-zonecities at 11:35 p.m.
