Fernandez Hurts Ankle

Patrick Racing driver Adrian Fernandezsuffered an injury to his left ankle when he was visiting his mother in Mexico City.He fell down some stairs and suffered a 'scratch to a bone.'

Fernandez said: "This is one of my worst accidents in 10 years"He regrets this accident happened in such a "ridiculousway" — he wasn't even in a car or working out.

Fernandez commented: "Thismishap is very bad for me because I was about to test the brand new '98 Reynard atthe next Phoenix practice session. I hope to get well soon to be ableas soon as possible to be back on the track."

Doctors at the hospital in Mexico City said heneeded an ankle operation but Adrian got in contact Dr. TerryTramwell in the US who advised against the surgery. Instead he will use a tough bandage, combined withrehabilitation exercises. Adrian will continue with hisphysical training to try to be back with his normal live in few days.
