Penske said his team's first 1999 PC28 Champ car will be ready for testing onthe team's normal winter testing schedule.

"Penske Cars is solid," Penske declared. "We'll have our first new car by earlyDecember. It will be an evolution of this year's car and we'll run it a time ortwo before Christmas. We've got a good car this year. We have not had the results, but the car is good. We're on the right track and we're hoping that Goodyear willcontinue their efforts in the same way."

Penske launched off wild rumors in Surfers Paradise last weekend that he may buy acontrolling interest in Lola. "Martin Birrane (Lola's owner) has been asking us totest a Lola. That's all that's about," Penske said. "We have no interest in that."
