Ilmor Engineering today unveiled their new technology center, located inPlymouth Michigan. CART CEO Andrew Craig was on hand to start the firstIlmor Mercedes-Benz engine to be dyno-tested at the new facility.
The Ilmor Technology Center is the North American business and technicalhome for Ilmor. Initially, it will serve as the rebulid and R&D homefor the Mercedes CART engines, with agressive future expansion planned.
A group of automotive journalists and racing VIPs were on hand to get afirst-hand look of the state of the art facility. Future engineeringprojects are expected to include other forms of racing and a vareity ofprojects for clients in addition to Mercedes-Benz
