Last week, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway announced that it will be hosting the Formula 1 World Championship Series when it returnsto the United States in the year 2000.For that purpose, the Speedway will construct a road course that will utilize part of the oval, but it will bedriven in clockwise direction.
Construction was already underway when the official announcement was made last week. Major changes in pit lane are required to accommodate 36 permanent garages.
