Photos taken on January 20 at Laguna Seca Raceway reveal some new details about two cars. Christian Fittipaldi's Swift will feature a new sponsor logo, plus some slight paint scheme changes.
Al Unser Jr.'s Penske revealed slight aerodynamic changes around the air intakes. The bigger news for Penske is the sponsor logo on the car: for the first time in 1999, the car has now been seen with Marlboro sponsorship. Statements by crew members also support that Marlboro will be backing a one car Team Penske in 1999.
