Established magazine refocuses on CART Fedex Series

Waukesha, WI — In keeping with the changing times in the sport of open wheel racing, beginning with its March issue, Indy Car and Championship Racing Magazine will become Championship Racing Magazine.

The name change came about as a result of a study of reader preferences conducted over a three-month period.

"We are very excited about the new name because we believe it reflects the emerging structure of the industry while still closely matching our coverage," said the magazine's publisher Debbie Wicker.

"The FedEx Championship Series is the most competitive open-wheel series in the world and will continue to be the primary focus of the publication. Championship Racing Magazine will also include coverage of the PPG-Dayton Indy Lights, KOOL/Toyota Atlantics, the US Grand Prix and the Indy 500.

"Focusing on CART allows us to cover every driver, every team, every race, every month," said Ned Wicker, editor. " Based on recent feedback, that's what the readers are most interested in. Since the beginning, all major decisions on our coverage have been made by the fans. "

Also beginning in March, Championship Racing Magazine will be perfect bound and have a coated cover.

Championship Racing Magazine is available via subscription, with readers in 24 countries around the world. It is also available at most major bookstores throughout the United States and Canada. The magazine is in its sixteenth year of publication.
