NOTEWORTHY: CARA Charities and Bridgestone have teamed up to keep children safe in the $450,000 "Buckle Up Baby" program. With the assistance of the Bridgestone/Firestone Trust Fund and Championship Auto Racing Auxiliary (CARA) Charities, the Providence Child Center will receive a $2,500 contribution as part of the "Buckle Up Baby" charity campaign to provide child car safety seats to low-income families across North America..."There are hundreds of families protecting their children while traveling thanks to the generous contributions from the Bridgestone/Firestone Trust Fund," said Mary Lou Bogner, national director of CARA charities. "The lifesaving seats are well known for their ability to safeguard infants and children, but many low-income families can simple not afford them. Because the Bridgestone/Firestone Trust Fund and others have recognized this fact, we have been able to use their contributions to aid hospitals, medical facilities and other agencies in purchasing seats for families in their communities.
