Sunday Morning Pit Notes

• A good morning to all from the Pacific Northwest in Portland, Oregon for raceday! Get ready for "Real Racing. Real Sport" as the CART FedEx Championship Series gears up this morning at Portland International Raceway with its traditional raceday warm-up session from 9-9:30 a.m., followed by the 12:30 p.m. start of the CART FedEx Championship Series Round 6 G.I. Joe's 200. The temperature at 8:57 a.m. is 59° F with 72 percent humidity under cloudy Oregon skies.

• CART FedEx Championship Series Starter Jim Swintal displays the GREEN FLAG at 9 a.m. and a number of Champ Cars scream out of pit lane for warm-up.

• At 9:03 a.m., #11 FITTIPALDI is stopped at pit out after pulling out of his pit box directly into the fast lane and contacting #20 BELL who now has a flat right rear Bridgestone Potenza.

• At 9:06 a.m., #52 NAKANO holds the fastest time of the session with a 1:04.017 (110.727 mph).

• At 9:08 a.m., #39 ANDRETTI tops the speed chart at 1:02.232 (113.903 mph).

• At 9:09 a.m., #32 CARPENTIER and #26 TRACY shortcut Turn 1.

• At 9:11 a.m., #27 FRANCHITTI is fastest with a 1:01.568 (115.131 mph). #10 KANAAN shortcut Turn 1.

• At 9:17 a.m., #8 VASSER and #26 TRACY shortcut Turn 1. #5 TAKAGI is fastest with a 1:01.246 (115.737 mph).

• At 9:19 a.m., #26 TRACY shortcuts Turn 1 again. #55 DOMINGUEZ tops the speed chart at 1:01.222 (115.782 mph).

• At 9:23 a.m., #33 TAGLIANI is fastest at 1:00.621 (116.930 mph). #10 KANAAN shortcut Turn 1.

• CHECKERED FLAG on the warm-up session. #51 FERNANDEZ clocked at 64 mph down pit lane. #33 TAGLIANI of Player's Forsythe Racing remains fastest in the session at 1:00.621 (116.930 mph), followed by #5 TAKAGI of Walker Racing at 1:00.836 (116.517 mph) and #8 VASSER of Team Rahal at 1:00.837 (116.515 mph).

• Bridgestone Tire engineers report that track temperatures ranged from 74° to 78° F and air temperature from 63° to 64° F during the warm-up session.

• The Champ Cars will report to the grid at 11:45 a.m. for the start of the CART FedEx Championship Series G.I. Joe's 200. Stay tuned for more "Real Racing. Real Sport." when the GREEN FLAG drops at 12:30 p.m.
