Hats off to Jimmy. Tomorrow is another day. I'll probably gethim in Turn One [laughing] and we'll go from there. I gave everythingI had and I'm happy we made the car better. [Regarding rumors of hisplans for next year] I think if you let that be a distraction, Iwouldn't be able to win any race. To answer the question which I'msure is going to come, I don't have a job yet for next year. I don'thave a done deal with anybody right now. It may well be that one dayI will drive for Williams, but I haven't decided anything yet.

I gave her everything she had out there. We really helped the carafter this morning's practice session and it showed in qualifyingthis afternoon.

I had only been able to run six timed laps (because of the red flags)when I had a sudden engine problem which ended our session. Obviouslythis is very disappointing for the whole team. But you must alwayslook for the positives in these situations and we have two - one isthat the layout of the track has a lot of areas for passing and thesecond is that Al (Unser jr.) has a good setup (qualified ninth) andwe can work with that tomorrow.

The race will be a big challenge for the whole Marlboro Team but Ithink with good strategy we will be able to move up through the fieldand hopefully get a strong finish.

The car was really good at the end of the qualifying session and I think we could have improved to fifth place. These poles are getting harder and harder to come by. I would rather do better in the race than in qualifying but it would be nice to have the whole package come together so that we could be a threat for the pole. I am looking forward to racing for the win so I can keep the Marlboro Pole money rolling over and win someone $1 million dollars in the Texaco 'Race to Millions II' campaign. The race will definitely be interesting .

It was super close in qualifying. I kept bouncing from second tofourth to third to second and finally fourth. It was going to bepretty hard to catch Jimmy's time from Friday. The track was prettyslippery. We were hoping to be in the first three rows here, sothat's not too bad. We are going to make some changes to the carovernight that will help us for the race. I am pretty confident thatwe can have a good racecar. They've made a couple of nice changes tothe track, especially grounding down the bumps in the corners. Thisis such a fun track to drive, but it's not always easy to pass. That's happening at every track now. With the series being socompetitive, passing is difficult all of the time.

There was no time to really get a good lap in. To me it looks likethe circuit is much slower than yesterday. It's difficult to find thegrip and we still have to a few fundamental problems with the car, even though we have been improving with each session. At least now weare on the pace with the others.

I think the fact that there are so many different formulas here thisweekend and a lot of cars have gone off the track has really thrown alot of dirt on the track which has made it very slippery. It'sunusual to see that happen because normally the circuit will improveon the second day.

There are many challenges here. The fact that the track is so wideopen makes it extremely difficult to find the turning in points. Theonly real reference point you have is the built up rubber on brakingpoints. At least there's a little mark for you.

We've kept improving and overall we're happy with the way things areprogressing. I hoe to see the improvements continue.

The car just didn't react to the changes we made like we had hoped. The car isn't bad, we just weren't able to get any more speed out of it this afternoon. We just have to hope for the best tomorrow.

We are working on the same things. We are concentrating as hard aspossible to improve the overall package and get the most out of thecar. When we put on new tires at the end of the session, the carstarted to oversteer and I couldn't set a faster lap. I think we havea good balance in the car. We have to be optimistic for the race.

We sat in the pit lane until we could see how Alex [Zanardi], Dario[Franchitti] and Bryan [Herta] would run. It didn't appear thatpeople were improving, so we sat until there were about seven minutesremaining, when we heard that Alex had run in the 56s. I actuallypushed for a couple of laps. The good thing is that we didn't put toomuch on the tires and we're in good shape for tomorrow. It's gonna bedifficult to win the race, no doubt about it. It should be easier towin from the pole than to win from last, but if you saw last year'srace here [when Alex Zanardi drove back from 22nd place to victory],it looked pretty easy to win from last. I'm gonna give everythingI've got to win this race, not for the [Marlboro Pole Award] money, but for the points.

I was trying to pull out a really good lapbut I lost it coming out ofturn 5. I did 2 1/2 360s - it was a pretty spectacular spin. I keptmy foot on the floor to make sure I didn't hit the marshall's post. It's pretty wide open here, but I didn't want to hit the only thingin sight.

We definitely improved the car. It is very consistent, so I think wecan capitalize tomorrow. They've lengthened the race by 10 laps so itcould be a 3-stop race. It's going to come down to speed andstrategy.

I'm happy that we are going into tomorrow with our bestqualifying effort of the year. We've had our share of dramas today, but the end result is that we're starting in a decent position forthe race. Our aim is to get on the podium and I think we have a goodshot at it. I have a lot more competitive car underneath me and itfeels good to be in a position again where we can win races.

We didn't get the setup right. The Visteon car is loose. Then inqualifying I had some problems with traffic and getting a clear lap.The car is better than it was yesterday, but I really don't know howgood a racecar it is. I guess we will find out tomorrow.

We had a lot of problems with the bumps. I can't control the car overthe bumps. We tried to fix this. We tried one way yesterday and wetried another way today and it didn't work. We are going to trysomething different for tomorrow.I think I am paying a little bit right now for my limited experiencein these cars. It's hard but we never give up. We'll see whathappens tomorrow.

It's great to be second, but I'd really like to be on the pole. Ifwe'd have done it (a fast lap) a lap earlier, we would have been allright. But, I put a wheel off in Turn 1 and had to back off. Then thetires weren't at their best on my fast lap.

The race is going to be a different story. We'll have to look aftertires, plan our fuel strategy and be running fast. It's going to be aquick race. Once again it's a balancing act - going fast, butconserving tires and fuel.

This morning we didn't run many laps because we were concerned withtire wear. We didn't want to use any of our tires we'd allocated forthe race. We just used some high-milage tires and worked on balanceand keeping the car consistent and getting the car to work over alonger run. I think we finished with a half-hour to go this morning,so I didn't really do a full day's work.

In qualifying here you've just got to go for it over the bumps; justhang onto the thing and carry as much speed as you can. I didn't findtoo much difference between today and yesterday. I think we improvedthe car over the bumps a lot and that's where the speed came from.

I'm pretty happy with how we qualified because it's our best efforton a road course in a long while. I'm pleased, but I'm disappointedsince I felt there was more in the car and also because of theattitude of some drivers who block on purpose. I thought we werecapable of being in the top three. It really would have taken onlyanother tenth or so to do that. But, everybody on the team is pleasedwith two cars in the top five.

The car is good because I was able to run good times on old tires inthe morning practice. I feel good about the race setup and we havetwo good sets of tires for tomorrow's race, so we'll see how it goes.Looking ahead, I'm also happy because we will have good pick for thepits in Toronto, which is important because of the tricky curveheading into pit lane.

We’ve been fast in the corners but loosing time on the straightaways.Unfortunately we’ve been having a problem with the pop-off valve, which controlsthe boost and power. Other than that the car is great. Ithink if we have some good lap times and good strategy in the pits tomorrow, wecan come up to the front.

We have to be cautious during the race. We have to get some points tostay in he championship hunt. Because our setup isn't right, we areusing up the tires. That will also cause us to be a little morecautious than normal.

We made a step forward from the [Saturday morning] practice sessionduring qualifying. I hope we can do the same thing for tomorrow'smorning practice. The car is very consistent and I am very hopeful ofa good result for the race.

This turn [Turn One] is much easier than at Portland [when Meierimproved 11 positions on the first lap after an accident]. It's a lotwider here than Portland, where we can drive two or even three carson the corner. I don't think we'll have a problem here. I will bewatching carefully should there be a repeat of Portland.

I feel bad for the Forsythe Blue Crew. I think we could have gone faster. Thecar was running good, but I just didn’t feel very well. I’ve been fighting theflu, and I was only able to run 20 minutes in this morning’s warm-up session. The crew and I are fairly confident that we’ll be running up atthe front tomorrow. I’m definitely going to get a lot of rest tonight.
