It seems right now the entire field is really competitive. It keeps getting tougher and tougher to qualify on the pole. The race tomorrow will be a different deal. I think my car will be good in the race. But I also think the track will become more slippery as the race goes on. You may see a lot of people locking up their brakes, sliding into the runoff areas, and using reverse gear, a gear you don’t use very often in a race car!

The car wasn’t really any better than this morning. I think we only just got back to our time from yesterday. But it was a lot warmer this afternoon, and the track was more slippery. We’ll just have to do what we can with it overnight and keep working on it.

The car’s definitely better, but we’re still having trouble with understeer on the concrete and putting the power down at the rear. I’m not sure whether the it was getting warmer and the track had less grip or if our first set of tires was just better than the second set.

I’m a bit disappointed not to stay on the front row. With the higher temperatures this afternoon, we had trouble keeping the rear end underneath us. Nevertheless, I think fourth starting position gives us a good shot for the race. In the morning practice, we ran competitive times on old tires, so that gives me a good feeling for the race.

I screwed up. I should have had the pole, but I made a mistake in one of the turns that screwed me up for the rest of the lap. In checking my times I lost two-tenths from what I was doing on other laps, and ended up only a tenth off the pole. My fault, but we're right in the same boat as the other two guys up front. The car is good and we can win, but I think we'll need some yellows tomorrow.

It was very slippery out there today. The concrete is so smooth here that the rubber, oil and heat can make it tough to turn the car. It's different than the Cleveland track where the concrete is rough and the rubber helps get grip for the track. Of course, if the car won't turn it also has trouble getting power to the ground in those sections. We improved our time from Friday and there weren't too many who improved today. It still wasn't what we wanted for qualifying. But we'll concentrate on our race setup and I think I can still charge to the front on Sunday.

We just couldn't improve today. When I drove over the concrete patches on the track, it was like hitting ice. The front end just wouldn't turn. Then when you would get on the throttle out of the corner, the car's rear end would kick out. The car would get super loose. I drove behind other guys that had a similar problem.

We just don’t have any grip. The first lap, when we first go out on new tires, it’s better, but after that, the car just slides around. It’s just massive. We don’t understand it. We’ve changed just about everything. We’re trying a lot of things, and we can find three-tenths (of a second) but not a second and a half.

Obviously, I'm disappointed. We were looking for another strong qualifying effort on the streets. I improved on my time from yesterday a little bit, but it wasn't enough. Traffic really hurt me today. I had a good lap going a couple of times, but a slower car would get in the way.

The team did a pretty good job with the car and the tires feel good too. I think that at this place there isn't a lot of passing, so starting up front was very important. Now we need to have a mistake-free day tomorrow on the track and in the pits. I feel like I haven't been able to buy a break at times this year, so perhaps tomorrow we're due.

Things were looking pretty grim there for a while. But we came in near the end and made a spring change, softened up the front of the car a bit. That really helped.

I went out and messed up the last turn on my first flying lap, but was able to make up for it the next time around and that moved us up the grid.

We’re trying as hard as we can. Unfortunately, we just couldn’t find a good setup for this track. For some reason, the tires seemed better the older they were. But, of course, you need the new tires to find the extra speed for qualifying. The main thing is to never give up.

We were just lacking grip. As it got warmer the track felt like it got slipperier, but I was just terrible from the beginning. We couldn’t do anything with it. We didn’t make a lot of changes from this morning, but the car just wasn’t working. We’ll have to go back and put on our thinking caps.

It’s pretty simple really. We got blocked in traffic on our first set of tires, and on the second set, we missed the chassis setup. The track must have been okay, because some guys managed to improve their times. We just didn’t get a setup to work with the track and conditions today, so it’s down to us.

We have a big, big push in the car that does not make it very stable to drive. Tomorrow is going to be difficult, but we'll work on the car and hopefully we can do better.

We're pretty happy. We came here with a different setup which we thought was going to be better. Turns out it wasn't. But we were able to make the car better from where we started. The weather has changed and that has had an effect as well. So when we've taken a step forward, something seems to step out of the shadows causing us to take a step backwards. So we're a little behind. We're having some problems really in the turns keeping the back end down. I'm happy and a bit surprised to have survived the second group to stay in the first four rows. We can do something from there.

The car was good this morning. But we made some changes for qualifying that I think took us too far in the wrong direction. We had a lot of push (understeer) in qualifying. I think we made the car too stiff in the front, but we still improved our time from yesterday. I think if we go back to the set-up we had this morning we will have a pretty good car for the race.

Qualifying on the pole feels pretty good, because the track has been sort of strange all weekend. The concrete patches [in the corners] actually felt more ‘grippy’ yesterday in the rain. Today, in the dry, the track actually felt slicker, almost like a mirror surface. So I’m a bit surprised I was able to go quicker [today]. But my crew came on the radio telling me to ‘go for it’ and I guess I did. I was on the pole here last year, but my race didn’t last very long so I’d like to make up for that this year.

It wasn’t a very good session for us, the two red flags came out on both of my quick laps. With the way tires are nowadays, if you don’t catch a good lap on the one or two laps they are at their best, you’re out of luck. We made a lot of changes [on the car] from the morning session. Starting from mid-pack is not a good position here so it will make for a tough race tomorrow, but we will put our heads down and give it our best shot.

It was better this afternoon. The car was definitely faster, but obviously not fast enough. The track was getting slippery as it got warmer, but overall, it’s been getting better as the weekend goes on. We still need more grip in the corners, more at the front of the car to carry more speed in and exit faster.

We need more grip. We're basically right where we started this weekend. We certainly haven't improved the car. It's frustrating because anything we do to the car isn't having an effect. We'll just have to do our best in the race, but I'm not real optimistic now. Starting from the back like we will, you can look to design a strategy to perhaps get lucky and improve, but if the car doesn't get any better, you'll just be a slow car out of sequence as well.

I'm happy with the session, but if I only could have gotten a few more hundredths of a second more, I might have improved a few more positions. We really improved the car, but we still have to find more time. It will be a very interesting race. There is no room for mistakes here.

It’s not where I want to be starting, but the car’s very, very good. We can run fast laps consistently, all day long. Towards the end of my run on the first set of tires, I just brushed the wall. I was trying really hard to find a little more speed and came through turn 11 a little faster than I had before. I brushed the wall, but it was no big deal. We came in, changed tires, fixed the little piece that was broken and went right back out. Unfortunately, we got caught up in traffic on the second set.
