Lap two of the race on Belle Isle in Detroit. Alex Zanardi had just taken himself out
of the race by running up on Dario Franchitti in the first turn. I heard what was going on and had
a nice large diamond vision screen in front of me that showed what happened, giving me the time to set
up across from Zanardi's pit, waiting for him to stop for a new nose cone. I didn't expect to get
this Italian show of emotion! The shutter speed was almost too slow to grab the moment. Mike Knight (Ganassi's
PR guy) in the background is probably thinking 'oh my, don't do anything stupid, Alex'...which he didn't do. he
just banged his hands on the 'hood' of the reynard.
