"Did you get that?" I was yelling at Al Beaulieu next to me (Kool Photoboy). He said,
yes, with autofocus! I was uncertain - my camera was aimed at a different area on the track, set to maximum depth of
field all manual, to grab some rear wings in the chicane. Then a wing came flying through my view and I unzoomed - firing at
5fps as it unfolded. I really had no idea what I had on film at this point, nor did the TV folks get it. When i looked at
the negs I knew I had my action shot of the year. Al's autofocus failed him he told me later...
