Toronto Gallery Reader's Choice |
The Toronto Vote ended as it should - Jeff Krosnoff was voted to be part of our best of '96 fan-choice Gallery. The other images that got votes may actually have been better photographs, but we all know there's more than the image quality that matters here. Seeing how Fox television chose to exploit the accident in their ridiculous "Disasters Strike" program on Monday makes me pretty angry - some people simply have no class whatsoever. I am glad to see that our fans at SpeedCenter share our views on how to deal with Jeff's memory. Maybe the FOX guys should take a look at our Tribute pages to Jeff to see how people feel about such events... In spite of the clear dominance of the Krosnoff image, 10 of the 21 images shown were chosen as favorites. Among these images are some of my own favorites ignoring the circumstances of the event. My personal (technical) favorite in this selection was the blurry photo of Adrian Fernandez, titled "Bitter Victory." The shots through the trees from above were nice too, but technically they just don't hold up (bad light). The "Alex at the Gate" shot is also pretty unique. Micheal running into the back of Moreno was a lucky shot, although with Michael these shots are easier to get than with other drivers ;-) Here the vote ranking for the Toronto Gallery:
The picture was taken on Saturday from above Turn 3 (almost Turn 4) with a very long lens. I had no access to the pits, so i made the best of it by trying something new - nobody else around me seemed to feel a long lens was needed in that corner. Well - this photo alone was worth the attempt. |
