It [the track] is agood improvement from last year. There are still some areaswhich could be improved, although we obviously should begrateful to everyone who helped with these improvements. It'svery challenging and the circuit is nice, although I'm not sooptimistic about how easy it's going to be to pass. Everyoneof us tries very hard to win every race, and this is what I'mdoing. I'm looking forward to having a good race in Vancouverbecause this place has been very bitter to me the last twoyears. I felt we had the car to win in both 1996 and last year,but it didn't happen. The championship is the main focus, butobviously the championship came because we were able towin races.

I enjoy the track very much. The layout is a definiteimprovement. It's a lot more fun to drive than last year's track.The last turn in front of the pits is extremely quick, but funnonetheless. It's gonna be a tough track to overtake, like theprevious one, but still a little better.

It feels good to kick the weekend off in a good way. Every change we made to the car had apositive effect. I was disappointed that I was blocked on my fastest lap by Paul Tracy, but he apologized andsaid he didn't see me.

The set-up is not quite there on the Visteon car, but on the second set of tires we made some improvement. The real problem was that everytime I felt I had a good lap going we ran into traffic. Unfortuntately we didn't get it going as good as we would have liked to, but we have a good base to improve on and we have to do just that.

I'm happy with our results today. We proved that we can be competitiveright out of the box at what is really a new track for all of us. We weresixth this morning and ended up tenth this afternoon. I made a couple ofmistakes today. I spun once in qualifying and I also touched the wall.Fortunately it didn't hurt my car. I think I was trying too hard. I ran outof fuel on the last lap as well, but I don't think I could have improved mylap times. I guess you could say it was an eventful session for us. We aregoing to make a couple of changes and try to be in the top three tomorrow.

We made a big improvement over this morning. I am a lot happier with the track -- where the braking zones are, where you turn in and how far you can push the car. As more and more rubber goes down, we're getting more traction. But it's like you're chasing the ball around the field. As we get more grip from the track, we have to adjust the setup of the car.

We're getting there with the car. We didn't make any big changes for qualifying. But we started the session with a front suspension problem. The toe bar was loose and it made the steering kind of screwy. That kind of upset the flow of the session. I think we could have been quicker, because we had pretty limited time (only nine laps) to try to improve the car. The end result was good and now we have a baseline to work from tomorrow. Mainly, we need to get off the corners better.

We improved the Tecate/Quaker State car from the morning practice session, but we still haven't found the right balance for this track. Fortunately we have another practice session tomorrow before final qualifyng and hopefully we can improve and then take it from there. This new track configuration is very difficult. But all new tracks are hard at first. This does seem to be a bit of an improvement over the old circuit.

Overall, we found a good basic set up for the car. I think our test atLaguna Seca last week was very helpful for me and the team. The car isworking well. Here it is a very bumpy course, unlike Laguna, but not toodifficult. There is room for improvement so I feel we can go fastertomorrow.
