We tested here a month ago and it really paid off. This is good for a firstqualifying session. Our Player's teams are really together. We'll try to capitalize on today's data and notes to get the pole in thesecond qualifying session tomorrow.

Even though we are P1 now I still think there is a lot more in the car.This was definitely not the quickest we can go and it isn't the quickest theother guys can go either. That last red flag really hurt us. I think weshould defiantly be in the 40s. Last year was the first time I got the polehere. I love this race track and if you ask anyone competing here thisweekend I think they will say the same thing. I hope we can keep it up fortomorrow because it is going to take a lot more to get the pole tomorrow. I think we were capable of being there [the Championship] all the way.There were a few times that really hurt us in the championship though suchas Milwaukee. We just need to keep chipping away at Montoya's lead andhopefully we can be there at the end.

We had bad luck with the red flag at the end of the session. I brought the car in and we made some changes,but we didn't get to really test them at the end. We don't know if we went in the right direction withthe changes, so we're looking forward to tomorrow's practice to continue to move forward. We haven'tlost any ground, we're just taking our time with the track. The car is good, but it could be better.We have a lot of work to do.

The Pioneer Electronics car has a lot of push. It doesn't want to settle down. The track is still pretty green,which is why I think we're so much slower overall than last year. We've got to keep our heads down and workreally hard to get the car to come around. We stand in a good position for that to happen tomorrow.Hopefully the track will be in better standing, and the winds will have died down.

Gugelminbasically had a problem on one of our hot laps. I found him right in themiddle of the straight and I was coming up on him at about 210 mph and thenyou are like 'what do you do?' Do you go right or left because you don'tknow what he is going to do. I am a little disappointed but we still havetomorrow. I think we made some positive improvements from this morning. Ireally didn't get a good crack at it but I am happy that Michael is up thereand I think tomorrow we can stick both cars on the front row.

We showedsome improvements in the afternoon, although the car still has a lot ofpush. Several races ago, the team made several changes in order to improveour performance, but due to one thing or other, we didn't get good resultsuntil today. I am happy that we are in the fast group for tomorrow, but weneed to keep working.

We were nothaving the day that I had hoped. We tested very well here and I came withquite a bit of confidence but we still don't quite have the car setup right.We made some improvement at the end of the session which put us up to tenthbut at then I got into some oil from Castro-Neves' car and spun. I didn'thurt the car too bad but at the same time I feel bad because I made somemore work for my guys tonight.

This isn't the waywe wanted to start the weekend. I feel this place owes me one after theresults we had over the past few years. I am confident that we can get thecar back up to speed and get us a solid starting spot for tomorrow.

My session was very brief. It felt like we just got the Team KOOL Green car warmed up and then I spun. I thought I could keep it running, but I stalled it onthe grass. We didn't hit the setup on the head in the first run. Then we were on used tires and we were quicker. I feel quietly confident at the moment.There's a couple of things we still need to do with the car. The good news is that the track grip is getting better all the time and I served my eight-minutepenalty for causing a red today, so that means we have the entire session tomorrow. So, that makes me happy because we'll have a good go for the pole.

We achieved what we wanted today and that was to stay in the fast group for tomorrow's final qualifying session. We don't feel that we have the TeamKOOL Green car completely dialed in yet. The track conditions have changed since we tested here in June (June 1-2). But, I'm really happy that we wereable to save a set of tires and now we've got some fresh Firestones for the start of the race. We'll keep working on the setup tomorrow and hopefully hit ourgoal of making it into the top-five on the grid.

It's a good start, but I'm not very happy yet. We are going to try toimprove the car for tomorrow because it's a little bit too loose forme. It's great to be back here and to be towards the front, but we'renot done yet. There's still tomorrow."

I don'tthink we made the right decision on the downforce level. Unfortunately thatsession was not very good for us. We are a little off thepace right now. There is a lot to be done and a lot to be fixed. We can goquicker but I had to come in because the car was very loose and then we madean adjustment with the downforce and went back out but I could not reallyput a lap together.

[With five minutes left in the session, as Carpentier tried to get inanother fast lap, the rear wheels locked on the backup car he was using,prompting the car to go sideways and into a series of rolls as it touchedthe gravel, coming to a stop when it reached the tire wall] My biggest concern was that I would roll over the tire wall and into thecrowd, but fortunately that didn't happen. My neck andwrist are a little sore but, under the circumstances, I'm happy withtoday's results.

We were havingsome problems with the brakes today. Overall the car is not quite thereyet. It's not like we could just unload it and have the setup. We don'treally know where we should be today. We definitely made progress but sodid everyone else. We would have been a bit faster if Castro-Neves hadn'tlost a motor. I got into his oil and I got a little sideways and it cost mea couple tenths.

Not bad for six laps today! Before this qualifyingsession, I probably would have said that this day couldn't get muchworse. But after qualifying, I have to say things don't look too bad. The car is okay. The last lap where I spun was definitely my best. Iknew I was low on fuel and I was pushing it every corner. The last onejust got away from me. There might have been something on the track,too. A couple of other guys went off in the same spot right after me. It's too bad. I was trying as hard as I could to get into the fast groupfor tomorrow.
