The 22-year-old Brazilian Castro-Neves will pilot aReynard/Mercedes/Goodyear package for Team Alumax in the 1998 FedEx Championship series. Last season, Team Alumax fielded Rookie of the Year Patrick Carpentier, who recentlyjoined Players-Forsythe Racing. Castro-Neves joins the team with Emerson Fittipaldi as his career manager. This puts an endto speculations about CART veteran Fittipaldi putting together his own team to enterCastro-Neves.
